A little over a month ago, a sweet baby girl made her way into the world. You might remember her parents’ maternity session from January. World, meet Hazel at just six days new.
She’s a doll, that’s undeniable. What I loved most about this session was how much her parents are obviously and unapologetically in love with her. And who could blame them? Check out some photos from our sessions and get Mama K and Papa P’s thoughts on being first-time parents.
Is having a newborn anything like you expected? Or have there been a lot of surprises?K- It is what I expected it to be exactly- a challenge at times but so incredibly worth it! I would say that I was surprised by just how intense labor really is and definitely what a challenge breast feeding can be. That said I wouldn’t change a thing about how I delivered and I love my bonding time with Hazel during breast feeding.P- It’s way easier than I thought it would be during the day and harder than I thought it would be at night.
What is your favorite part of being new parents?
K- Cuddling and watching all of her facial expressions.P- Daddy cuddle time. What’s your favorite thing about Hazel?
K- Everything! Physically P loves her little ears and I love her head of hair
Does Hazel look more like mom or dad when you guys were babies?
K- Hazel looks just like P as a baby but she got her head of hair from me. 🙂
If, in the future, you could tell Hazel one thing that you want her to know about this time in your lives, right now, what would it be?
K- We want her to know how much we loved her from the very second she came into this world and how each day we don’t think it’s possible to love her anymore than we already do but we do. 🙂
What are you most looking forward to now as a family of three?
K- Spending time together as a family and watching Hazel grow and experience all of her firstsP- Becoming a family of 4 once we get a puppy for Hazel. And taking Hazel to the beach for the first time…with our puppy.K- He really wants a puppy!
