January 2018 Wrap Up

I’m not gonna lie, January was a rough month.

We started the New Year with the heartbreaking realization it was time to say goodbye to my first baby, my sweet girl Frankie. Her health started to decline about a year ago, and although various treatments gave us another year with her, by New Year’s Eve, she was showing signs that she was ready to move on. It was undoubtedly the hardest decision I’ve ever made, even though I know it was the right decision.

January also brought a bout with the flu! I mean, I guess I can check that off the “been there, done that” list now, but I probably could have lived forever without ever experiencing it.

So, yeah. January started kind of rough. But, that’s life sometimes.

Moving on.

One thing I want to explore this year is self portraits. It’s a 10/10 on the Uncomfortable Scale, and a 10/10 on the Awkward Scale, too. And that’s precisely why I’m doing it. There’s growth in discomfort. So I’m doing it!

So, yeah. January was quiet around here. Here’s hoping February brings a little more fun!
