Holding onto daddy’s fingers, sweet baby Drew held himself up, inching his chubby little legs forward, so proud of himself. When his balance got the better of him and he plopped to the ground, Drew propped himself up on all fours, and surveyed his surroundings. Turning back to me, he reached one cautious, chunky arm forward and planted his hand on the ground. A chubby little thigh inched its way toward me. Then, the other hand plopped on the ground, followed by the opposite leg. Feeling a little more confident, baby Drew propelled his perfectly chubby arms and legs forward again. With each arm-leg-arm-leg shuffle, his movements become more coordinated and more confident, until he was eventually cruising toward the step down into the foyer. Daredevil baby!
Drew’s super recent mobility development gave us reason to move the W family’s session from downtown Annapolis to their home for a super fun, super sweet lifestyle session. When Mama told me he had just started crawling, I knew I wanted to document this, and there was no way we could safely do that on concrete and wooden piers. As I’ve shared before, I love lifestyle sessions, and this was totally the right call for this family at this season of life.
Drew is a total cutie pie who warmed up to me pretty quickly – s0 much so that he attempted to give me several licks on my leg before we were done. Mama assured me this is a sign of affection, haha. It’s obvious that Drew is the center of mama and daddy’s world, and getting to share part of an afternoon with them was so good for my soul!
