Spring School Picture Day | Baltimore School Photographer
Fall is a popular time of year for local schools to schedule picture day. But have you considered offering school portraits in the spring? Here’s my take on spring school portraits as a Baltimore school photographer.
I think we collectively think of school portraits as a fall thing. I remember, as both a student and teacher, school picture day happening in the first month or two of school. And it makes sense – schools can get student portraits in time to use for student IDs, yearbooks, and other administrative purposes. Plus, school portraits in fall can feel like a good marker of starting a new chapter.
A spring school picture day is a great offer in addition to fall photos. When I was still teaching pre-k, there was an obvious maturation in students by spring. Not just in looks, but in their confidence, too. They’ve settled into the school day rhythm, they’re comfortable with their teachers and friends. I’ve found the same to be true now, as a Baltimore school photographer with four years of school photography under my belt.
