What to wear for school picture day | Baltimore School Photography
Getting ready for school photo day in Baltimore? Choosing the right outfit can make all the difference in how your child’s portrait turns out. Whether you’re working with me or another photographer, I’m here to make the process easier. Let’s pick out something that’ll make your child look amazing and ensure their photo is a keepsake you’ll treasure!
Stick with Solid Colors
Solid colors are perfect because they keep the focus on your child’s face and expressions, without any distractions. They give a timeless look that won’t go out of style as trends change. Try to avoid neon colors—they can cast strange colors on your child’s face and take away from your child’s natural beauty.
Choose Comfortable, Classic Tops: Since the shots are mostly shoulder-up, it’s important to pick a comfortable top that your child will feel at ease in. A relaxed kid is more likely to show their true smile. Go for classic collars or simple necklines that nicely frame their face. Soft textures, like a cozy sweater or a smooth cotton shirt, can add a nice touch without stealing the spotlight. And make sure it fits well! Oversized clothing can appear bulky in photos.
Skip the Distracting Accessories: Hats and big bows might be cute, but they can overshadow your child’s face in a photo. They can also create shadows or hide important features. Keep hair accessories simple and practical.
Grooming Matters: Make sure your child’s hair is neatly styled and out of their eyes. This helps capture their full expressions and ensures their face is clear and visible. A simple hairstyle will keep the focus where it should be – on their sweet face!
My aim is to capture your child’s unique personality in their portraits, so it’s important they wear something they love and feel comfortable in. If you’re unsure about what to pick or just need some advice, feel free to reach out to me. I’m here to help make your child’s school photo day a hit!
I can’t wait to create beautiful, timeless portraits of your little ones this school year!
