It’s no secret that I love in home sessions! Staying home for your newborn adds an intimate and authentic element that can’t really be recreated in other settings. Don’t get me wrong – I love my outdoor sessions! But there’s definitely something extra special about a family allowing me to capture their life in their space for their in home newborn photography session.

Whenever I am postpartum, the thought of packing up my family, dressing my still healing body, and getting anywhere at a specific time WHILE everyone looks presentable sounds like a nightmare. My older children will inevitably find something to get on their clothes. My newborn will undoubtedly be cluster feeding. We will forget something important. Yikes.

Having your session in home captures your family, yes, but it also allows us to capture your home! Your home is your refuge, your safe haven. It’s where you learn to breastfeed and it’s the room you’ll pace with a teething, sad baby. It’s the couch you all pile onto after a tough day. Maybe it’s even the place where you met your baby for the first time! How incredibly special.

I realize there is no life with risk, but I understand how fragile and vulnerable those first few weeks can be – physically but also emotionally and mentally. By choosing an in home newborn session, you’re protecting your family, your mind, and your heart.
