It’s no secret I love in home newborn sessions, but a fun perk of the warm weather right now is when we can take your newborn session outside! This backyard newborn session in Baltimore was so sweet. Fun, laid back, family centered, beautiful. Everything a newborn session should be!

This precious girl was born at home into the arms of her mama and daddy, surrounded by her four older siblings. Her mama requested climbing back into the birth pool for a few shots and as a homebirth mom myself, I was thrilled to do this for her. Baby girl absolutely loved being in the water, kicking her legs and smiling at her mama. When we have an opportunity to add a unique element to a session that’s special to just that family, I love to incorporate it!

I love the way Kelsea styled her family for their session. I never want families to feel stressed or stuffy or not like themselves in their photos. She picked a comfy, beautiful dress for her healing body. I love dresses for mamas because they add femininity, softness, and movement to photos. Her color palette was simple and lovely – shades of blue paired with light neutrals. Everyone was barefoot. Natural. Organic. Relaxed. Comfortable. True to their family dynamic.
